HOW I CAN HELP

As a person-centred counsellor, I tailor my approach to meet your unique needs, offering a compassionate and safe space for growth. With experience in primary care settings and a commitment to ethical practice, I ensure a secure environment for our work together.
Depression

Depression can leave you feeling low, hopeless, and disconnected from the world around you. It’s more than just feeling sad; it can affect your energy, thoughts, and ability to enjoy life. Talking to a counsellor can help you explore the underlying causes of your depression, identify negative thought patterns, and find ways to lift your mood. Together, we can work towards rediscovering joy and creating a sense of well-being.

Bereavement

Losing someone you love can be one of the most painful experiences in life. Bereavement is not just about the death of a loved one; it can also involve any form of loss, such as the end of a relationship or a life-changing transition. Grieving is a personal and unique process, and there’s no right or wrong way to navigate it. Talking through your feelings with a compassionate counsellor can help you process your grief, find comfort, and start to rebuild your life at your own pace.

Anxiety

Anxiety can show up as constant worry, tension, or fear about things that are happening or may happen in the future. It’s a natural response to stress, but when anxiety becomes overwhelming, it can impact daily life and well-being. Counselling offers a safe space to explore the root causes of your anxiety, learn coping strategies, and develop skills to manage your emotions. With the right support, you can regain control and find a sense of peace and balance.

Stress at Work

Work-related stress can feel overwhelming, whether it’s caused by deadlines, difficult colleagues, or a lack of work-life balance. It’s not uncommon to feel stuck or burnt out. Through counselling, you can explore the pressures you’re facing, identify unhealthy patterns, and develop healthier coping strategies. With the right guidance, you can regain a sense of control, set boundaries, and find ways to navigate your work environment more effectively.

Relationship Issues

Whether it’s romantic relationships, family dynamics, or friendships, struggles in relationships can be tough to navigate. Poor communication, misunderstandings, or emotional wounds can create distance between you and others. Counselling provides a safe space to reflect on your relationships, improve communication, and work through unresolved issues. With support, you can strengthen connections, improve self-awareness, and build healthier, more fulfilling relationships.

Addiction

Addiction doesn’t just affect the individual struggling with the behaviour - it impacts families, friends, and colleagues. Whether it’s substance misuse, gambling, or compulsive behaviours, the ripple effect can be far-reaching. Counselling can support you in understanding how addiction has affected your life, offering a space to process feelings of frustration, helplessness, or confusion. Through therapy, you can learn how to set healthy boundaries, find support, and rebuild your life and relationships.

The Story Behind Jenga Counselling

Mobirise Website Builder

The name Jenga Counselling has a deeply personal meaning, rooted in both my family life and the essence of what I offer as a counsellor.

In my home, Jenga became a lighthearted term for my organised clutter. My office was humorously nicknamed "The Jenga Room" by my son, who often found himself caught in a real-life game of Jenga—every time he reached for something on a shelf, other items would inevitably topple over! His exasperated comment, "Mam, this is like being stuck in a human Jenga game!" gave the room its name, and it stuck.

When it came time to name my counselling practice, Jenga Counselling felt like the perfect fit. I shared the idea with trusted friends and colleagues, and their responses reassured me that this name truly captured the essence of my work. One piece of feedback, in particular, resonated deeply:

"I love the 'Jenga' concept because life is like a game of Jenga! We build strong towers from many different blocks, but when one piece is removed or becomes unstable, everything can feel like it’s falling apart. You try to hold it together, but sometimes, no matter how hard you try, the tower collapses. That’s when a builder—someone like a counsellor—can step in to help rebuild, piece by piece."

This perfectly sums up the heart of Jenga Counselling. Life can feel unstable at times, but with the right support, it is possible to rebuild and regain balance. My role as a counsellor is to provide that steady hand, helping you put the pieces back together in a way that feels strong, secure, and uniquely yours.
